Pencil Hardness Test For Nano Titanium Stainless Steel Sink

With comparison to ordinary stainless steel sink, nano titanium sinks have better hardness because of its unique coating. Thus, there is pencil hardness test specially for nano titanium stainless steel sinks.

Firstly, wood pencils shall be well prepared with much work, including sharpening the pencil to obtain with an undisturbed, unmarked and smooth cylinder of lead, rubbing the lead on the abrasive paper for a flat, smooth and circular cross section, also free of chips or nicks in the edge...

Then, the coated panel shall be placed on a level, firm and horizontal surface. The operators shall hold the pencil with the hardest lead against the film at a 45° angle, and they'll exert sufficient pressure downward and forward to cut or scratch the film or to crumble the edge of the lead. Generally, the length of stroke had better be 6.5 mm.

Besides, the operators shall repeat the process down the hardness scale until a pencil will neither cut through nor scratch the surface of the film. Then they will check all the defacement of the film and make a minimum of two determinations for gouge hardness (7.3) and scratch hardness (7.4) for each pencil.
